CVN Presents

In addition to providing vital mental health services, each Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic has become a pillar in its community in part due to a wide variety of workshops, seminars, partner gatherings, and other events held in the community rooms in each location.

During the pandemic, the network has launched this virtual community room, while the clinics are treating clients primarily via CVN Telehealth.

Dr. Amanda Spray, Program Director at the NYU Langone Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic, says the PTSD can manifest in thousands of different ways in veterans returning from war.

“One of the hardest parts of PTSD is that it presents in so many different ways. There was one study that showed it can present it self in 6,000 different ways, different permutations,” she said. “I think the notion that PTSD is one thing and looks the same in every veteran or service member, I think that’s certainly a myth.”
