The Cohen Veterans Network has launched a progressive two-day training workshop on Emotionally Focused Therapy across the country, originating out of our Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York.
Master Trainer Dr. Zoya Simakhodskaya, Ph.D. will lead the effort from New York today and tomorrow. Dr. Simakhodskaya is a Certified EFT Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer.
Various Cohen Clinics around the country will gather to join the online interactive video sessions. Several of our clinics have invited local community providers to join the two-day workshop, helping CVN further our mission to advance the field of mental health.
A clinical staff member from our soon-to-open Washington D.C. clinic has traveled to New York to take part in person, while other groups join virtually including our just-opened El Paso location as well as the established San Antonio and Dallas clinics. Each one of these locations has an EFT facilitator on site, to help facilitate and enhance the training sessions.
“We are excited to be providing this high-quality training across the country using the latest technology. Testing novel methods is an important part of our mission to train broadly, but efficiently and effectively. This is a unique way to disseminate effective treatment methods in a core evidence-based practice. We look forward to making these types of opportunities available for our growing network,” said Crystal Shelton, CVN Vice President of Clinical Programs.
For CVN, this represents another innovative approach to growth and dissemination, utilizing local facilitators at each clinic site.
