Research Associate

We are looking to add a Research Associate to our team who will play a key role in the advancement of CVN’s research and innovation initiatives. Advancing the field of military and veteran mental health is a top priority for CVN. You will assist the Director, CVN-IQ in all aspects of operational, clinical, and social science research and innovation activities.

 

Specifically, you will:

 

  • Conduct analyses to answer research/data questions
  • Develop methodology and research plan to conduct complex analyses
  • Independently conduct data analytic tasks and interpret and communicate the results effectively to range of audiences
  • Assist in assessing/monitoring mental health care across the industry to assure continuous learning and currency
  • Apply research, data analytic tools and methodologies to address and resolve clinical and operational challenges/problems
  • Regularly summarize findings of analyses for presentation to internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze internal and external data sources from NIMH, CDC, SAMSHA for related health and services sectors prepare summary reports and visualizations, and discuss findings with network leadership
  • Draft detailed reports and presentations, including graphics, charts, tables and use other descriptive and explanatory tools
  • Review and assesses data and research products to determine quality and sufficiency. Make recommendations for presentation formats and communication of key points.
  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to support internal research initiatives, research grants, CVN’s Scientific Advisory Board, and cross-collaboration between CVN-IQ and other departments and clinics in the network
  • Assist in drafting, editing and proofing documents and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders. Prepare manuscripts for submission to peer reviewed journals
  • Assist with drafting preparing, critiquing and revising reports, conference materials, scholarly articles, and white papers
  • Independently conduct literature and research reviews,
  • Assist in development, review and submission of grant application, research proposals, IRB protocols, abstracts, and Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
  • Presents papers/research or leads symposia at professional conferences

 

What’s required

 

  • PhD/doctoral degree in social/behavioral science field with experience in conducting and managing qualitative/quantitative research studies
    • Or, master’s degree in related field plus 3 years relevant experience in research.
  • Knowledge of social science methodologies, i.e., factor analysis, structural equation modeling, ANCOVA, ANOVA, (general linear models) multivariate linear and logistic regression, non-parametric statistics. AI and a plus.
  • Highly skilled at interpreting and graphically presenting data in user friendly formats for expert to general audiences
  • Highly proficient with data analytic programs and software including, Excel, SPSS, STATA, SAS, MPlus, Python, Power BI
  • Knowledge of data management and analytic strategies. Ability to work with data sets, to clean and merge, assess disaggregate
  • History of publication in scholarly/peer reviewed journals.
  • Experience as reviewer for relevant peer reviewed journals a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite and Adobe required
  • Experience in Internet security practices and HIPAA a plus
  • Experience working in mental health or community health systems a plus
  • Veteran, Military Spouse, or experience in the veteran community a plus
  • Some travel required. (2-3x year)
