Last week we celebrated the official Grand Opening of the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at VVSD in Oceanside, where nearly 100 community members gathered to celebrate the second Cohen Clinic at VVSD in Southern California!
Medal of Honor Recipient and Cohen Veterans Network Ambassador, Former Staff Sgt. Ryan Pitts delivered inspiring keynote remarks. “Places like this Cohen Clinic are here to help veterans, active duty, and families live happy and healthy lives. But that takes real work. I’m here to tell anyone out there today who needs help, please take that step forward and do the work to get better – because you can get better,” Pitts said.
The morning of Wednesday, October 5th included a press conference with remarks from keynote speakers San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, Oceanside Mayor Esther Sanchez, Camp Pendleton Commanding Officer Col. Daniel Whitley, as well as Award-winning Multimedia Journalist and Military Combat Veteran, Author Amy Forsythe, alongside Dr. Anthony Hassan, VVSD CEO/President Akilah Templeton, Cohen Clinics at VVSD Regional Clinic Director Shari Finney and Cohen Clinic at VVSD, Oceanside Associate Clinic Director Kirsten White. A ribbon-cutting was done with members of the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and Oceanside Miss Princess Andrea Barba.
