Venée M. Hummel, LCSW     

Venée Hummel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (TX, TN, KY, FL, and AL) and the Assistant Director at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone in Clarksville, Tennessee. She has a specialty focus on evidence-based treatments for posttraumatic stress disorder, suicide prevention, and anxiety disorders, particularly among military populations. Post graduate school, Venée completed her clinical training as a fellow and research therapist with the STRONG STAR Research Consortium and Consortium to Alleviate PTSD at UT Health San Antonio (Fort Cavazos, TX site). She is expertly trained and certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD (PE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia and Nightmares (CBT-I&N), and the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). Alongside providing therapy interventions, she also contributed to the development of the CBT-I&N treatment manual; become a certified consultant to trainees learning PE; has served as a part-time faculty member at the Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University since 2016; and she regularly provides clinical workshops on relevant topics pertaining to military mental health. Within the Cohen Veterans Network, she is a master trainer on suicide prevention and the evidence-based assessment of PTSD. As the Assistant Director at the Cohen Clinic in Clarksville, Venée is honored to support and train clinical staff, champion the use of evidence-based practices at the clinic, and oversee continuous quality improvement initiatives that help the clinic more effectively meet the needs of military-connected clients.
